A Little About Me
Hi, I’m Craig A. Williamson, most recently writer and author of two impactful books - Regarding Things That Matter and Regarding Substance Abuse and Addiction. Using a powerful, straight forward writing style, we gain clarity and understanding that makes us better.
I grew up in a small factory town in Detroit, where life was simple but full of lessons. My parents’ tireless work ethic taught me the value of resilience and personal responsibility. Over time I’ve come to believe I have a responsibility to spark insights in others which help them move towards their best selves - all while moving towards my own full potential to do good in the world.
Over the years, I’ve worn many hats - student, athlete, leader, father, writer. As the first in my family to attend college, I went on to earn degrees in engineering and finance, lead companies across industries, and work as a senior executive in business. But my greatest lessons haven’t come from career achievements - they’ve come from life itself.
Losing My Son in 2023
A powerful chapter of my journey included losing my only son in 2023 after 17 years of dancing with the devil of addiction. It was a heartbreak that solidified the way I see the world and deepened my commitment to do something meaningful with the remainder of my life. To give value to my son’s life by paying forward lessons learned.
I snowbird between Washington State’s San Juan Islands and Scottsdale AZ, where I spend my days cycling, kayaking, learning and reflecting on the big questions. This newsletter is my way of sharing those reflections with you - and hopefully inspiring you along the way.
